GARY HEATHERLY

Based in Knoxville, TN, Gary Heatherly has been capturing life as a professional photographer for over 30 years. In addition to three books, the award-winning Knoxville Then and Now, Gateway to the South, and most recently, Knoxville Green By Nature, his work has appeared extensively on front covers and inside feature articles in national magazines, on TV, and in ads for clients around the world. Gary is a fine arts graduate from the University Of Tennessee with a BFA in Drawing and Painting and studies in architecture and art history.

Heatherly identifies as a photographer in the way that Einstein coined them, as “Light Monkeys” who are always chasing the light. He aims to capture fleeting moments of reality and surreality through a still image. Heatherly works in digital media to transform the appearance of life into a dreamscape, revealing the spiritual progression of time and the quantum entanglement of our existence and its infinite layers and possibilities.
